Wave Energy is a clean renewable source of potential electricity that is worthy of investigation.

A collaborative  effort between the University of Victoria, Fred Olsen Renewables, BC Hydro and the District of Ucluelet has successfully installed monitoring equipment just off of Barclay Sound. Ucluth Development Corporation President Tyson Touchie states " This is an exciting time for UDC given the importance of this phase of investigation which enables the local community to be on the ground floor in determining the viability of a potential clean energy source and parallels our Corporation's interest in Wind and Small Hydro assesment also currently underway".
